Want to get more media coverage for your creative organisation?
Tailored specifically to artists, performers, musicians and creatives, this 2-hour workshop will teach participants:
- the key news values that make journalists sit up and take notice
- how to make those news values work for you
- how to craft compelling key messages
- how to bring everything together in a strong media release; and
- a few extra tips for giving your news the best possible chance of being picked up by your target media.
By the end of this workshop you will walk away with a really strong draft media release - or maybe even a final version - that you can use to gain media coverage; as well as the confidence to use the same strategy time and time again.
About the facilitator
Sarah is a multi award-winning public relations consultant and former freelance journalist with local and international experience. Sarah has crafted media campaigns that have been covered by all of Australia’s major media outlets as well as the London Times, The Wall Street Journal and Agence France Presse (The European newswire). While Sarah began her PR career working on the accounts of some of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical and medical device companies, in the last 7 years she and her team have secured tens-of-thousands (yes, literally) of media stories for North Queensland's festivals and events, musicians and performing artists, small businesses and Government agencies.
Sarah was named the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s QLD Emerging PR Practitioner of the Year in 2013.
