Local but Global

This Forum will provide Townsville’s makers, thinkers, creators, tinkerers, and entrepreneurs with a forum to hear and discuss how they can tap into this global movement.

Can the Makers movement work in alignment with global capitalism and providing local alternatives to global markets? This year’s forum goes beyond the 2016 maker’s forum as it explores how to work in global markets.

Townsville City Council and the Townsville Business Development Centre have partnered to provide those attending the forum the opportunity to hear from local and global leaders and entrepreneurs.

This half day forum is being held during the 2017 Townsville Fashion Festival when Townsville becomes North Queensland's fashion capital, full of style, creativity and passion.

Highlight of this event will are:

  • Forum of presenters from diverse industries addressing their story of success and opportunities.

  • Facilitated discussion which enables participants to share innovate ideas and projects to a collective group.

  • Networking function allowing attendees to interact, explore, learn and build relationships
